Far From New

from thinkingoverthinking by Casey Jost

/

lyrics

I wish I was new.
I wish I knew what to do.
Wishes aren't real.
At least in my experience they never come true.
Made of plastic, yo it was black, the ink like oil.
I searched the inside's drawers, and the outsides fertile soil.
Found the pen, then wrote down the story in the morning.
The night came in, I found the pen and a letter for me.

And you should have felt the way it moved.
Ballroom dancing in the womb.
One could hear the babies kick from the thirteen moons of neptune.
Growing in size from small to large, my head came first followed by my arms.
All a fantasy, dream un-true.
I was born before therefore I'm far from new.
